Following concerns raised by local residents about driving standards in and around the Deansgate area, officers from C Relief Neighbourhood Beat Officers (NBO) carried out a targeted traffic operation this week.
The operation focused on Deansgate, Peter Street, Quay Street and Liverpool Road, with the aim of improving safety for pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.
During the deployment:
12 drivers were issued Traffic Offence Reports, including: • 9 for using a mobile phone while driving • 1 for failing to comply with a red light • 1 for driving without due care and attention • 1 for a no‑right‑turn offence
• 1 vehicle was seized under Section 165 (no insurance) • 1 vehicle was stopped for illegal window tints, which the driver removed at the roadside
These results reflect the ongoing work your local officers are doing to respond directly to community concerns. We know how important road safety is to residents, businesses and visitors, and we remain committed to tackling dangerous driving and keeping the area safe.
If you have concerns about traffic issues in your neighbourhood, please continue to report them to us. Your information helps shape our patrols and ensures we’re focusing on the issues that matter most to you.
